UCLA Film & Television Emerging Filmmakers is seeking Production Coordinators to support summer programs. There are multiple positions available with various appointment end dates.
Appointment A: June 9th – September 14th
Appointment B: June 9th – August 4th
*Mandatory Training Session: June 9th & 18th, 2025
Production Coordinators work directly with the Lead Production Coordinator, faculty, TAs, and summer staff to support the UCLA Film & Television Summer Programs.
During the summer, the Department of Film, Television, and Digital Media welcomes high
school students, current UCLA students, visiting college students, and working professionals to study in a supportive environment that fosters community and diverse perspectives. This position is key to a successful summer and offers a dynamic and positive work environment where no two days are alike. Candidates for this position must have on-set experience, preferably as a line producer, assistant director, or unit production manager. Candidates must be reliable, communicative, and able to follow film production protocols. Each Production Coordinator will be tasked with leading production workshops and production groups throughout the filmmaking process. Candidates will work in an educational setting and must remain patient, calm under pressure, and able to problem-solve while mentoring students.
This position is in-person. Hours will vary:
Prep Weeks (6/09 - 6/23): Part-time hours, approximately 10 – 20 hours a week
Program Weeks (6/23 - 8/04): Full-time with weekend and evening hours, approximately 30 – 40+ hours a week. Candidates will work at least 12-hours on film shoot days.
Wrap Out Weeks (8/04 - 9/14): Part-time hours, approximately 10 – 15 hours a week. Approximately Full-time for Appointment A until 9/04.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience on-set is required.
- Previous experience in production scheduling is required.
- Previous experience working with minors preferred.
- Previous experience with customer service or events management preferred.
- Previous experience in teaching or leading a workshop is preferred.
- Previous experience with post workflows in Adobe Premiere Pro preferred.
- Must complete a fingerprinting/live scan background check with UCPD, a requirement for working with minors at UCLA.
- Must complete program-specific training in UCLA policies regarding minors, including, but not limited to CANRA, Title IX, and cyber security, as well as attend an online golf cart training
program. - Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be comfortable driving a golf cart.
- Must be available some evenings and weekends, as needed.
- Must be available to work in-person full-time during the program dates, with some overtime hours.
MAIN JOB DUTIES:
- Serve as 1st Assistant Director for student shoots.
- Serve as Line Producer for student shoots.
- Oversee and guide the props & costumes pick-up and return appointments.
- Be present on all shoot days and ensure film shoots go smoothly.
- Work closely with Summer Program Coordinators on all aspects of production, including cast and crew releases, catering, crafty, props pick-up and drop-off, costumes pick-up and drop-off, purchases, parking for actors and MUA, sourcing MUA.
- Oversee & guide equipment inventory check-outs and check-ins.
- Lead production workshops on topics like screenwriting format, production prep materials, and editing.
- Coordinate with faculty & TAs to make sure students meet deadlines and requirements for deliverables.
SUMMER PROGRAMS STAFF MUST:
- Comply with UCLA policies and procedures and act consistently with the University’s mission and guiding principles.
- Be well-versed on the UCLA Student Conduct Code and the policies of the UCLA Summer Sessions and Emerging Filmmakers, as well as the Office of Residential Life policies, if applicable.
- Play an integral role in achieving the highest level of academic, personal, and social development for program participants.
- Help provide a safe learning environment by ensuring program rules, regulations, and safety expectations are followed.
- Be able to move above and beyond the basic requirements of tasks given to be proactive in supporting the students, instructors, staff, and programs.
- Be self-starters and take pride in work well done and in a timely fashion.
COMPENSATION:
- $25 - $28 Hourly Based on Experience
Interviews will be conducted in-person on-campus or over Zoom, and be scheduled on a rolling basis as applications come in.
