UCLA Film, Television, and Digital Media seeks a Pre-College Assistant Coordinator to support the department's Pre-College Summer Programs.
Appointment: March 2025 through August 8th, 2025

The Pre-College Assistant Coordinator supports the following programs: Digital Filmmaking, Writing for TV, Media Parks, and Cinematography. The position directly supports the Pre-College Coordinator, Director, and Deputy of Summer Programs and works in collaboration with the Summer Programs Coordinator and the Program Staff Lead. Together, this team provides programmatic and administrative support to all programs.
This position is in person. March to May hours will be approximately part-time and June to August will be approximately full-time. During June and July, the Assistant Coordinator should expect to work approximately 40+ hours a week, including weekends.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Previous experience in office administration required.
- Previous experience in project administration required.
- Previous experience working with minors is preferred.
- Previous experience with customer service or events management required.
- Previous experience with social media and email marketing preferred.
- A valid driver's license and ability to drive a golf cart is preferred.
- Must complete a fingerprinting/live scan background check with UCPD, a requirement for working with minors at UCLA.
- Must complete program-specific training in UCLA policies regarding minors, including, but not limited to CANRA, Title IX, and cyber security, as well as attend a golf cart training program.
- Must be available for support staff training from June 9th, 2025 - June 18th, 2025.
- Must be able to lift 20 lbs.
- Must be available some evenings and weekends, as needed.
- Must be available to work in-person full-time during the summer, with some overtime hours.
- Support the Pre-College Coordinator in managing curricular scheduling, academic field trips, screenings, welcome events, closing ceremonies, and special events across pre-college programs.
- Assist Pre-College Coordinator in coordinating with faculty, TAs, and other instructional support in preparation for their courses, updating faculty/TAs on program logistics, and additional office support.
- Interface with other TFT organizations, such as the Business Office, I.T. Support, and Student Services in the successful completion of programmatic tasks.
- Support the administration of programmatic procedures, including background checks, online safety training, and liability release forms.
- Manage a team of program support staff and lead staff meetings.
- Support the procurement of props, costumes, and other supplies needed for film productions, whether through TFT entities or outside vendors.
- Must be available to be on call after hours in case of emergencies either remotely and/or in person.
- Must complete program-specific training in UCLA policies regarding minors including, but not limited to, CANRA, Title IX, and cyber security, and attend an online golf cart training program.
MAIN JOB DUTIES:
EMERGING FILMMAKERS STAFF MUST:
- Comply with UCLA policies and procedures and act consistently with the University's mission and guiding principles.
- Be well-versed on the UCLA Student Conduct Code and the policies of the UCLA Summer Sessions, as well as the Office of Residential Life policies, if applicable.
- Play an integral role in achieving the highest level of academic, personal, and social development for program participants.
- Help provide a safe learning environment by ensuring program rules, regulations, and safety expectations are followed.
- Be able to move above and beyond the basic requirements of tasks given to be proactive in supporting the students, instructors, staff, and programs.
- Be a self-starter and take pride in work well done and in a timely fashion.
COMPENSATION:
- $25 - $28 Hourly Based on Experience
