The Department of Film, Television and Digital Media is seeking applicants for summer instruction in areas including film history, the art and technique of filmmaking, screenwriting, animation, directing, cinematography, editing, and producing. Interested candidates should submit a letter of interest, CV, syllabus and statement of teaching philosophy. Please note that the Department recently standardized the information we include to students in our syllabi. The three elements we are particularly concerned with are the following:
1) All syllabi convey the same basic information to students. We have adopted a format recommended by the Office of Instructional Development.
2) All syllabi should outline course materials, requirements, course goals, grading standards, and assignments that are suitable for the grade level of the course being taught.
3) All syllabi should reflect attention to equity, diversity, and inclusion in your selection of films, readings, and conceptual frameworks as is appropriate to the subject of the course.
Please follow the course syllabus template and sample syllabus when creating your syllabus to submit with your application.
